Pokemon Academy: Grass-Type

Diving into living things that can photosynthesize, we had so much fun exploring, experimenting, and reading all we could get our hands on about plants.

Here are some of the hands on activities we explored that related to different Pokémon:

Leaf Color Chromatography Experiment: Deerling,

We learned about photosynthesis and leaf pigments like how deerling has different colors in different seasons.

Transpiration observation: Leafeon

We learned about the power of leaves to conduct transpiration like Leafeon.

Egg shell planters: Oddish and Exeggutor

We learned about plant life cycles and plant needs, then applied them and observed them by starting our own seeds in planters that look like Oddish or Exeggutor.

Clay Cactuses: Maractus

We learned about Plant defenses and then made our own tiny cactus sculptures.

Sensory Spaghetti vines and roots: Tangela and Bulbasaur

We played with green (like bulbasaur) and blue (like Tangela) dyed spaghetti as sensory play since the spaghetti look like their vines.
